Tweaked some new performance mods, and I'm playing it for the first time. Knowing it probably wouldn't work, my laptop is way below specs, and it didn't work last year. Some of you may still be in my boat: I was just reading r/fallout because I was replaying 'New Vegas,' contemplating a FO2 run.īut screw it, I watched Steam downloading FO4. (I searched Reddit forums and didn't see a post quite like mine, with a new hope, and relevant info.) Last year I tried all performance mods for FO4 up to January on my 2014 AMD craptop and they 'just didn't work.' No matter how drastically I curbed the graphics, the game ran too badly to play. e2: See note at the end, though, I'm still playing.
Edit: I was enthusiastic when writing this, but I'm afraid loadtimes on 4 gigs of RAM get worse (to an almost unplayable level) as the game goes on and renders more complex stuff than the bare wasteland.
